Zeke Clough – Proto Murk exhibition
With the Levenshulme Bicycle Orchestra Auto Collapsible tour over, some of you may be wondering where you can still get a taste of the bicycle wielding gents. Well, we don’t like to disappoint, and we’re glad to point you in the direction of Zeke Clough’s solo exhibition which runs from 16th July to 24th September. Solo means unadulterated blistering comic-esque viscous drawings, paintings and illustrations.
Zeke’s also got another solo show at Kunstwerg in Mainz, follow the link to see some info and pictures, and more pictures and info here

There is a map here.
It’s extremely easy to reach, just jump on the train from Piccadilly or Oxford Road to Salford Crescent and walk up the street towards the Uni along Broad Street and you can’t miss it.
alexis+olly – spring leaves to winter snow fall
Emerging from deep within the mists of the Luxembourg forests, alexis arrives with his second offering for Moniker – a beautiful, mysterious, haunting and utterly enchanting record which broadens and deepens his sound-world. spring leaves to winter snow fall continues to draw on alexis’ signature vein of brooding, submersive electronic soundscapes which now also include recognisable natural field recordings from his current home in the forests of Luxembourg, and introduces a new collaborator olly, who provides enigmatic vocals and subtle, sensitive guitar embellishments.
alexis describes spring leaves to winter snow fall:
“olly came to luxembourg to record some songs between the forests in spring; as the leaves turned, soundscapes emerged; a selection of songs nestled amongst passing seasons”
Each download comes complete with a set of photographs taken by the artist, documenting the seasons change throughout the recording and writing of the record, as well as beautifully designed photo-sheets containing the lyrics.
Any fans of alexis’ previous release the mists, or those who know and love work by Leafcutter John or the wonderful Touch label (or really anyone who loves good music) should look no further. Download your copy now!
LBO Wire Magazine Review
Everyone involved with Concrete Moniker was pretty stoked to learn that our favoured music monthly The Wire deemed Nine Doors worthy of review.
“a Faust-like mixture of ritualised musical theatre and collective improvisation… a scrapyard gamelan conjuring a post-industrial – even post-apocalyptic – North of England… stumbling rhythms that echo some of the trash-kitsch of Swordfishtrombones-era Tom Waits.”

-/ Slashstroke Magazine
The very lovely folk at Slashstroke Magazine (your one-stop shop for the current word on art, music, design, fashion and literature) recently sat us down for an interview on all things Moniker. We went back to the very beginnings of the label, discussed our current and future plans, and chatted about the state of the music industry in the web 2.0 age.
In return, we put together a 30-minute mixtape exclusively for them. We dug through the back-catalogue in order to feature tunes from every single one of the Moniker artist family.
You can read the magazine and download the mix here.
Barcelona Electricites…
If you happen to be in or around Catalunya this week, Moniker’s resident abstract electronocist Tullis Rennie will be playing a specially prepared one-off live set with new collaborator Kitus. The bill is also jam-packed with other local electronic goodness from across the spectrum. Read on for more…
